Charles R. McKenney focuses his legal practice on criminal defense, traffic matters, and juvenile law. He has represented clients in criminal and traffic courts for almost 30 years, bringing extensive courtroom experience, strategic insight, and practical judgment to every case.

Mr. McKenney earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, with a minor in Journalism, from Winona State University, and later received his Juris Doctorate from Creighton University School of Law in Omaha, Nebraska.

Having served as a Special Public Defender in juvenile DCFS matters for over 16 years, Mr. McKenney possesses a deep understanding of juvenile law and the sensitive issues involved. He approaches each case with dedication, professionalism, and a strong commitment to protecting his clients’ rights and futures.

Inspired by his father, a respected criminal defense attorney, and his grandfather, a former FBI agent, Mr. McKenney represents his clients with unwavering dedication and a firm commitment to justice. He is a lifelong resident of Northern Illinois and is deeply familiar with the local courts and legal community.
